Full Joint Statement

The following joint statement was issued by both the Northville Board of Education and the Northville Education Association:

“A Collective Bargaining Agreement Has Been Reached and Ratified”

The Northville School District and the Northville Education Association are pleased to announce that following extensive contract negotiations, a new collective bargaining agreement has been reached and ratified by both parties, as of September 23, 2025, that covers the remainder of this school year as well as the 2026-2027 school year.

While the negotiation process presented challenges at times, the parties never wavered in working together- in fact meeting together on seventeen different occasions - in an effort to reach a contract agreement that not only continues to support and uplift the District’s outstanding teaching staff, while also considering financial responsibility and sustainability. Throughout this process, both parties remained focused on our shared commitment to supporting our students and community.

This contract agreement reflects the dedication and commitment of the Board of Education and Northville Education Association to ensure we continue to provide a top notch education for our students. Both teams worked tirelessly to such an end. The Board of Education deeply appreciates the passion and investment of our teachers, who continue to inspire and educate our students with excellence. Furthermore, such appreciation extends to the NEA’s negotiation team, led by President Richard Tabor, Chief Negotiator Matt Creighton, and MEA UniServ Director Grat Dalton – and its work and advocacy to ensure an agreement that seeks to reinforce the recruitment and retention of outstanding educators.

Similarly, the Northville Education Association acknowledges the District’s willingness to engage in meaningful dialogue and work toward solutions that balance the needs of educators with the broader responsibilities of the District. We are grateful for the District’s commitment to public education and to the well-being of our staff and students.

Together, we look forward to a great remainder of this school year, as we continue to share in the commitment to provide the highest quality education for every student in Northville Public Schools.
