As each of our elementary schools continue to thoughtfully prepare for the second semester learning option selections made by families, we have made a small adjustment to our elementary school calendar to ensure a smooth transition. Rather than the previously scheduled half-day of school, elementary students will not have school on Friday, January 29, 2021. This will provide a full day opportunity for our teachers and staff to make the necessary shifts in classroom set-up, prepare for any new class configurations, and facilitate teacher-to-teacher communication.
Students and families will have access to learning resources through Class Link, and are encouraged to consider utilizing this time to finish assignments as needed, access asynchronous content in humanities classes, and/or use this time to explore individual interests.
Students will resume school on Monday, February 1, 2021 consistent with the learning option elections made in December, 2020. Any changes in placement were communicated to families on Friday, January 15, 2021.
This change applies only to the elementary level given the unique mid-year changes that are not typical for elementary schools. Students in middle school, high school and in our Cooke Center program will have a half-day of school on Friday, January 29, 2021 as scheduled.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this schedule adjustment. Thank you, as always, for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate the challenges of offering both virtual and in-person learning options to meet the needs of our students, families and staff.
